From big, bulky and loud to small, more space efficient and quieter Builds....

Todays builds are all about how big, bulky and loud your computer is. The rest of the world enjoys computers in their households, not helicopters. (5+ Fans is a bit overkill)

So, Presenting to you all, my latest creation (Still unfinished, but specs are set in stone!)

When building this little beast, I have tried my best to have the best of both worlds set in this little baby!
In terms of performance, nothing but top grade flagship components!
In terms of Efficiency, it's small, it's quiet and it DOES pack a punch!

Here goes:

CPU* ( See below for cooler): Intel Core i7-6700K @ 4Ghz Base Freq, 8Megs of Cache and an outstanding 91W TDP
Intel Core i7-6700k IntelArK

RAM: GSkill Trident DDR4 16Gb Set @ 4Ghz CAS 19
Newegg Page for GSkill TridentZ DDR4*
The closest thing to this I could find on the GSkill.com website is the 2133Mhz version of it which has a high variation of CL and Performance variations that don't match what's in the case; therefore no GSkill.com website link provided

Mobo: ROG Maximus VIII Impact Intel Z170 Motherboard
ASUS ROG Maximus 8 Impact Extreme Motherboard

Case&PSU:
Silverstone Raven RVZ02 SFF Case
Athena Power Apollo Series AP-MP4ATX80FEP8 800W

Storage: 2x Mushkin Enhanced Reactor 2.5" 1TB SATA III in RAID 1 (Equaling in 2Tb, 1 Gbps sequential read & write.)

GPUXFX Radeon R9 Fury

Here is WHY these specific parts were chosen and my reasoning behind making this build exactly the way it is and WHY it works. Please bare with me.

First off: Dimension wise, this exact combination fits perfectly! It's a tight fit, but as long as it fits, it fits.

The photos depict measurements I have taken in regards to measurements posted by vendors.
For a powerful GPU to fit in the really constrained part of the case allocated, it either has to be user modified, or just consider a different model/vendor&variation.
Luckily for me, the XFX Edition of a R9 Fury (note I am not saying FuryX). and it REALLY is a tight fit.

NOTE: I still do not have the SSDs, the PSU or the GPU. I will be working towards them, and when the build is complete, there will be follow through. Do understand that this combination costs close to 4000$ and the performance/size ratio is just incredible.

Details, Details and More Details

For the CPU Cooler, I use a Noctua NH-L9i 95mm SSO2 CPU Cooler with their signature Thermal paste (without the noise suppressorm which supports CPUs < 65W TDP)

Why the XFX R9 Fury?
According to the case manual, GPU dimensions must be within
STD Width: 4.38"
With the Graphic card holder, the maximum allowed: 4.78"
W/o the graphic card holder, the maximum allowed: 6.15"
the R9 Fury dimensions are: *Taken directly from newegg* : 12.40" x 4.41" Just below the stated standard!

If you don't really give a cr*p about the added security from the brace that Silverstone provides, you can go as far as the ASUS Radeon R9 Fury STRIX, but I personally don't recommend it due to the awful reviews and customer support by that manuf.

This is it from me for now, I Have a few more posts that I need to publish and I will be addressing some other questions from people reading this blog. Till then, happy building and merry bench marking!
